06.17.2009Priority Consult Breast Care to Exhibit at National Consortium of Breast Centers, Inc. Breast Patient Navigator Certification September ProgramsThe main objective in the NCBC Navigation Certification program is to help licensed nurses and other certified medical professionals, such as RT(R)(M)s, meet certain criteria in skill sets for navigating a patient through their breast health and breast cancer journey. The program presents performance standards in breast patient navigation, timeliness of care and discusses facility protocol. It validates these medical professionals' knowledge and performance standards through testing. Individuals are provided with a study guide on breast patient navigation. The certification is open to individuals who are currently responsible or will be responsible for navigating a patient. Individuals who are not licensed medical professionals will be provided a certificate of attendance.

06.15.2009Spine Center of Excellence at Thibodaux Regional Implements Priority ConsultThe Spine Center of Excellence at Thibodaux Regional Medical Center, in Thibodaux, Louisiana, implemented Priority Consult on April 13, 2009. The Spine Center offers a single point of access for patients, known as a Nurse Navigator, and is comprised of physicians with specialties in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Neurology, Anesthesia, and Neurosurgery. Priority Consult allows the Spine Center's Nurse Navigator to direct patients to the most appropriate treatment or physician for their spine symptoms.
